Rossway Swan “Adopts a Highway” and Cleans Bridge Following July 4th Festivities

When the partners of Rossway Moore Swan decided to continue their outreach into the community, one of the projects they selected was to be part of the Florida’s Adopt-A-Highway Program. As volunteers of this program, Rossway Moore Swan entered into an agreement which commenced in 1999 with the Department of Transportation (DOT) to “adopt” a two mile section of a state highway. The law firm “adopted” the section of State Road 60 from Indian River Boulevard to State Road A-1-A along Beachland Boulevard, and under the DOT safety regulations, they don orange vests and remove litter from this location on a quarterly basis. Many miles of highways are adopted statewide by various organizations, allowing civic-minded people to make a difference in their communities. This eases the load of DOT work crews, enabling them to devote more time to other road maintenance and special highway projects. Adopt-a-Highway signs commending Rossway Moore Swan are posted at the beginning and end of the bridge.

Crime Stoppers of the Treasure Coast held their annual Awards Banquet at the Pelican Yacht Club on Wednesday, May 15. While honoring Treasure Coast’s law enforcement agencies for the remarkable services they perform, Crime Stoppers also paid a special tribute to Judge Eddie Swan who passed away this past year.

“We are honored to have our father, Eddie Swan, recognized for his dedication and work for Crime Stoppers” expressed son Mike Swan a partner in Rossway Moore Swan. “His legal career spanned over 60 years and he loved serving the state of Florida, Miami-Dade, and the Treasure Coast. One of his most endearing passions was his work in bringing public awareness to stopping crime through Crime Stoppers of the Treasure Coast. It was near and dear to his heart and he was very proud of being instrumental in getting legislation passed which allowed Crime Stoppers to receive funds from fines assessed by the criminal court. This is a remarkable program and my father’s legacy will live on in the wonderful work done by Crime Stoppers.”
