April 8, 2024, made its mark in history as the day of the Great North American Eclipse. Most people across the country were able to experience the eclipse in some form, but only 13 states fell directly on the path of totality, where the moon appeared large enough to shield all but the sun’s outermost layer, the corona. Amy Burkhardt and Christine Faughn, shown above, don eclipse glasses that were provided to employees to allow for safe viewing of the partial eclipse from our office parking lot. The next total solar eclipse visible in North America will not occur until 2044 and we were excited to share in a slice of history.
